  • ATP Winston Salem

    The last stop on the US Open Series, and a last chance for players to get that all important practice in, and Defending champion Jurgen Melzer will be mixing it up again with the two-time champion John Isner who comes in as the top seed, gunning for his third title. 

    Joining the big American in the draw will be fellow US stalwart Sam Querrey and Steve Johnson, who has been racking up some impressive runs over this year, as well as Donald Young who is enjoying a real purple patch in his play this summer.

  • WTA New Haven

    A lot has happened in defending champion Simona Halep’s life since she lifted this title last year, and she returns as the World No. 2 to defend it, along with fellow top 10 players Petra Kvitova and Eugenie Bouchard.

    It is the last WTA stop on the US Open Series ahead of the US Open and Halep et al and keep an eye out for four-time winner Caroline Wozniacki who has been playing well over the hard court summer.

    The last Slam of the year kicks off, but there will be one notable absentee. Men’s defending champion Rafael Nadal is out of the US Open after failing to get fit in time from a wrist injury. On paper Novak Djokovic is the favourite but could Roger Federer pick up his 18th Slam title?

    On the women’s side, Serena Williams is looking back to her ominous best, picking up the Cincinnati title en-route to scooping the US Open Series prize pot. But do not discount some of the older members of the WTA chasing pack with good turns by Ana Ivanovic, Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova, as well as WTA Rising Stars Simona Halep and Eugenie Bouchard looking to impress
