WTA Bogota 2016 live on Wednesday, April 13 - Svitolina, Duque-Marino on court today

Elina Svitolina takes court today.

The first and second round of matches at the 2016 WTA Bogota will be played on Wednesday, April 13 with Elina Svitolina and Marina Duque-Marino heading the draw.

Third seeded Colombian Duque-Marino will open proceedings for the day at the campo estadio with a first round clash against Amra Sadikovic of Switzerland.

The Colombian failed to make the main draw at the Miami Masters, exiting at the first stage of qualification. Prior to that, she had suffered three consecutive first round exits from the WTA Monterrey, Indian Wells Masters and the WTA San Antonio.

Sadikovic has mainly competed at the lower levels this year. She had done well to reach the quarterfinals at the 25k event in Naples and had made the second round at the 50k event in Osprey where Madison Brengle beat her in three sets. She was ousted from the qualifying stage at the WTA Charleston last week.

This will be the first career meeting between these two ladies and the seeded Colombian Duque-Marino starts as the favourite.

Top seeded Ukrainian Svitolina will take on Alexandra Panova in the second contest of the day at the campo estadio. Svitolina won the title at the WTA Kuala Lumpur before exiting from the second round at the Indian Wells Masters. She comes into the tournament following a third round exit from the Miami Masters.

Panova competed at the 50k ebent in Croissy-Beaubourg prior to featuring here and had made the quarters on the occasion. Prior to that she had exited from the first round at the WTA Kuala Lumpur. She could not qualify for the main draw at the Australian Open or the WTA St. Petersburg which followed.

These two have not met in the past either but the Ukrainian top seed Svitolina should be able to waltz into the second round against this opponent.
