Spanish star, Roberto Bautista-Agut has married longtime partner, Ana Bodi Tortosa, tying the knot with his bride at a ceremony in Spain on Saturday.

The Spaniard posted pictures of the wedding in his Social Media accounts, drawing congratulatory messages from fans, family and other well-wishers, including his fellow professionals.

The wedding marks a happy ending to an emotional fortnight for Bautista-Agut, who played a pivotal role in Spain's Davis Cup triumph last Sunday despite losing his father midway through the week-long tournament in Madrid.

The 31-year-old had left the Spanish squad to attend to his ill father, who unfortunately passed on soon after. However, in an admirable show of strength and courage, the world No. 9 was back in action for his country three days after his father's death, scoring a vital victory over Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime in the opening rubber of the final. World No. 1, Rafael Nadal would go on to clinch the title for the hosts with victory over Denis Shapovalov in the tie’s second rubber.

Bautista-Agut enjoyed the best year of his career, breaking into the top ten for the first time and recording his best Grand Slam performance with a semi-final run at Wimbledon. His progress to the last four at the All England Club came as a surprise to many, including to the man himself, who had scheduled his Bachelor's Eve for the second week of Wimbledon!

"We had everything reserved from Wednesday or Thursday until Sunday. They all knew before that there was a small chance for me to be here, playing in the quarter-finals,” Bautista Agut said during the tournament. “I think they really had a good plan. They spent Wednesday in Ibiza".

With the Bachelor's Eve put on hold, Bautista-Agut's friends travelled to London to support their man, and were in the stands during his semi-final against eventual champion, Novak Djokovic. The Spaniard might have lost that match, but the events around that semi-final run created one of the feel-good stories of the tournament.

Bautista-Agut also reached the quarter finals of the Australian Open, while he claimed his only title of the season in Doha, beating Grand Slam champions, Djokovic and Wawrinka along the way.

The world No. 9 is scheduled to begin the new season at the inaugural ATP Cup in January 2020, when he'll turn out for Spain alongside Nadal, Pablo Carreno Busta, Albert Ramos-Vinolas and Feliciano Lopez.
