Djokovic moved ahead of Pete Sampras and into third on the all-time Grand Slam title list with his crushing straight sets dispatch of Rafael Nadal, landing his 15th major crown and seventh at Melbourne Park.

The Serbian will be going for his second ‘Nole Slam’ at the French Open later this year after adding the Australian Open to his Wimbledon and U.S. Open titles that he secured in 2018.

It truly has been an extraordinary resurgence for Djokovic, who was ranked outside the world’s top 20 in June last year.

Check out some of the best social media posts that paid tribute to Djokovic and his record-breaking triumph below.

Djokovic also had time for some trademark comedy in his post-match press conference.

The World No. 1 couldn’t help himself as veteran Italian journalist Ubaldo Scangatta asked him a question, leaving the entire room in hysterics with an expert impersonation!
