Jarry has moved through the Bastad draw without dropping a set, beating Henri Laaksonen, Mikael Ymer and Jeremy Chardy to take his place in the last four.

The Chilean has generally got better through the tournament, and recorded his most convincing win of the week in Friday's quarter finals against Chardy. Jarry's serve was again fundamental to his victory, as he found his mark 70% of the time, winning 72% of points on his first serve.

The 23-year-old was clutch on the big points, saving six of seven break points, while converting all four opportunities he created.

All of Jarry's three finals have been on clay- he was runner-up in Sao Paolo in 2018 (lost to Fabio Fognini), and again in Geneva a couple of months ago, where he was beaten by Alexander Zverev after having match points.

Jarry had a poor start to the year, winning just two of his first ten matches, but he got better as the season moved on to the European clay, reaching the quarter finals in Barcelona and the final in Geneva. Jarry made the quarter finals on the grass of s-Hertogenbosch, but that was as good as it got for him on the surface, ending with a first-round loss to Andreas Seppi at Wimbledon, but he has regained his footing on clay, and is two wins away from claiming his maiden tour-level title.

The world No. 64 will attempt to knock off one of those wins on Saturday when he plays Argentine left-hander, Federico Delbonis in the last four.

Delbonis is attempting to reach his fifth career final, and his first since April 2016, when he defeated Borna Coric in Marrakech to lift his second ATP title.

The 28-year-old was taken to three sets by the unheralded Spaniard, Bernabe Zapata Miralles in his Bastad opener, but he has been more assured since then, beating two very fine clay-court players, Pablo Cuevas and Joao Sousa in straight sets to progress into the semi-finals.

After winning four straight games to take the first set 6-2 against Sousa, Delbonis got into some trouble in the second set, slipping to a 1-4 deficit, but the Argentine fought back to take six of the next seven games to complete a 6-2 7-5 victory after a fairly brisk hour and 19 minutes.

He has now made three tour-level semis this season- the others in Cordoba and Geneva, losing to Juan Ignacio Londero and Alexander Zverev respectively. The only other tour-level event where he's won consecutive matches was the Miami Open, where he beat Peter Gojowczyk and John Millman, amd dragged Novak Djokovic to three sets in a losing effort in the third round. He has lost opening matches at the Australian Open, Buenos Aires, Sao Paolo, Indian Wells, Marrakech, Monte Carlo, Antalya and Wimbledon this year. Overall, he's 13-14 at tour level in 2019.

Delbonis has had a couple of better weeks on the Challenger tour, reaching the Noumea semis at the start of January, and winning the Perugia title in the week before Bastad.

The world No. 70 is thus on an eight-match winning streak at all levels, as he heads into a first ever meeting with Nicolas Jarry in Bastad on Saturday.

Can the Argentine stretch that streak that to nine matches, or will Jarry maintain his push for a maiden career title?
