Roger Federer is one win away from regaining the No. 1 ranking in Rotterdam - and he has offered an invitation for Rafael Nadal - his great rival and current No. 1 - to ‘hang out’ during the tournament!

Federer took a late wildcard into the ATP 500 ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam as he aims to become the oldest No. 1 in men’s history - and recapture the top spot for the first time since 2012.

After two straight sets wins over Ruben Bemelmans and Philipp Kohlschreiber, only Dutchman Robin Haase stands in the way of Federer and the No. 1 ranking, with the pair set to clash in the quarter-finals on Friday.

But, despite the pressure surrounding him, Federer has found time to joke around. During his press conference after beating Kohlschreiber, a reporter informed that Nadal is actually in the Netherlands for his foundation, attending the Postcode Lottery Good Money Gala, which is being hosted by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Taken by surprise, Federer declares that Nadal should come around to hang out as he’s ‘lonely’ without his family this week.
