Live Wimbledon tennis – news, updates and live streams from The Championships 2015

All the latest news and live streams from Wimbledon 2015 – follow the best action from The Championships 2015 live from 29 June-12 July.

Novak Djokovic and Petra Kvitova return to defend their titles as the most iconic fortnight in tennis takes place at the All England Club in south-west London in early July.

Taking place a week later in 2015 to accommodate an expanded three-week grass-court season, Wimbledon – also known simply as The Championships – follows hard on the heels of the French Open and substitutes fiery clay for cool green grass.

The oldest and most prestigious tournament in tennis, played at the All England Club since 1877, Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam still played on grass and the tournament’s traditions – including a strict all-white dress code, no play on middle Sunday and the consumption of strawberries and cream – have been preserved even as the event evolves, with a retractable roof now installed over Centre Court.

Roger Federer holds the record for most men’s singles titles with seven while Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray are also active Wimbledon champions. On the women’s side, Serena and Venus Williams head the list of active champions with five titles each, followed by Maria Sharapova (2004) and Petra Kvitova (2011 and 2014).

The Championships are live from Wimbledon from 29 June-12 July 2015.
