It might only be an exhibition, but tempers were flaring during a match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Corentin Moutet at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown on Sunday.

To be fair to Tsitsipas, he handled the situation calmly, but the same can’t be said for Moutet, who was becoming increasingly frustrated with his opponent’s coach and father Apostolos.

Moutet believed Tsitsipas was receiving unfair coaching from his father throughout their match – which is interesting considering all coaching is completely legal in the UTS.

The Frenchman didn’t hold back when his temper reached boiling point, branding Apostolos as ‘stupid’.

“I don’t speak about Stefanos because he’s a good guy, but the father is stupid, everybody thinks he is stupid,” Moutet said.

You can watch the exchange in the video below.

For the record, Tsitsipas won the sudden-death match and has advanced into the UTS semi-finals.
