What is the Setka Cup?

The Setka Cup is a series of tournaments organised by the Ukrainian Table Tennis Federation, UTTF, with the aim of popularising and developing table tennis as an Olympic sport in the country. The event is open to both male and female players from the age of 18 above, and follows the approved table tennis rules in Ukraine. All players must wear a red or blue T-Shirt. The tournament began in May 2018 and is open to players from all over the world.

To participate in the Setka Cup, players must fill an elaborate online application form, on which they are required to provide information like names, contacts, and medical history. The organisers will then assess each application and decide on who to grant entry into the tournament.

Setka Cup matches hold throughout the day, with the first set of matches starting around 7:00 GMT, and the last round of matches serving off around 21:00 GMT. There can be up to 70 matches (or more) per day! The matches are played across seven halls, named Africa, Europe, Australia, America, Asia, Seoul and Tokyo Halls.
