Ruud v Shapovalov live stream and match preview | 2021 Geneva Open

Casper Ruud takes on Denis Shapovalov today at 15.00 pm (UK Time) in the final of the Geneva Open, with both aiming to lift their first trophy on clay this season.

After three consecutive Semifinals without success, Casper Ruud managed to reach his first final of the season. Ruud had no problems against Pablo Andujar-Alba yesterday in the Semis, winning the clash in just 1 hour and 20 minutes (6-3, 6-2). Ruud has won just one title in his young career, which was in Buenos Aires back in 2020.

Meanwhile, Denis Shapovalov has improved considerably over the past few weeks and that can be seen in his recent results. After his heartbreaking defeat to Rafael Nadal in Rome a week ago, Denis Shapovalov secured three consecutive wins here in Geneva to reach his first claycourt final. The 22-year-old Canadian holds just an ATP Tour title (Stockholm 2019).

We expect a close contest between two in-form players, so our best shout is Over 22.5 Games at odds of 5/6.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.

Pablo Cuevas will be looking to continue his brilliant Geneva Open campaign when he faces Denis Shapovalov in the Semi-finals today at 14.00pm (UK Time).

This is by far the best performance of the season for Pablo Cuevas. The Uruguayan came as a qualifier here in Geneva and after dropping a set in the first match against Jakub Paul, he has won four matches in a row in straight sets. Cuevas has played two matches yesterday, including his impressive 2-0 victory over the 4th-seed Grigor Dimitrov. The last time when Cuevas has won a tournament on clay was in May 2019 at Aix en Provence.

Denis Shapovalov, on the flip side, has played his first two matches in Geneva yesterday, beating the likes of Marco Cecchinato and Laslo Djere. He had a tough match against Cecchinato as he needed to fight back from one set down, but then managed a comfortable win against Djere in the quarter-finals. Denis Shapovalov hasn’t reached any Final on clay courts in his career, although he has played in two semi-finals.

We are expecting a fierce battle between these two, so our prediction is Over 21.5 Games at 4/5.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.

Pablo Andujar-Alba is on a hunt for his 5th ATP Tour Title on clay when he takes on Casper Ruud today at 12.00pm (UK Time) in Geneva.

The 35-year-old Spaniard is currently on a great run of form, having won five of his last six matches on clay courts. Andujar-Alba has enjoyed an excellent campaign here in Genova, having won over Jordan Thompson, Roger Federer and Dominic Stricker while dropping just two sets in the process. Pablo Andujar-Alba has won just four ATP Tour Titles on clay in his career and holds a 9-5 record in the semi-final matches at this level.

Casper Ruud has won 14 of his 18 matches on clay courts. Casper Ruud has reached the Semi-finals of four of the five clay tournaments he has competed in so far this season. He lost the previous three semi-finals in straight sets against Andrey Rublev, Nikoloz Basilashvili, and Matteo Berrettini. Ruud secured a comfortable win in the opening round against Sandgren, but had to fight back from one set down to defeat Dominik Koepfer in the quarter-finals.

Casper Ruud has lost all his semi-final matches on clay this season, but we expect him to go through this time. We back him to win in straight sets here at a price of 57/100.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.

Marco Cecchinato and Denis Shapovalov will square off in the second round of the 2021 Geneva Open On Wednesday at 17.00 pm (UK Time).

Marco Cecchinato has struggled for consistency throughout this clay season, but he has now managed to secure three victories in a row for the first time this season. He came as a qualifier here in Geneva and did well to beat Marchenko and Altmaier to book his place in the main draw. Furthermore, he had a 6-3, 3-0 lead against Stefano Travaglia in the opening round when Travaglia accused an injury and withdrew.  Marco’s best performance over the past year was reaching the final in Sardinia last October when he lost in straight sets against Laslo Djere.

Denis Shapovalov has only played eight matches on clay this season while losing four in the process. After a couple of early exits in Barcelona, Estoril and Madrid, Denis Shapovalov looked a bit better in Rome last week. He won the opening two rounds in a comfortable manner against Majchrzak and Travaglia and was very close to secure an impressive win over Nadal in the third round. He looked great for the majority of the match, led 6-3 3-0 at one point, but couldn’t hold his nerves and Rafa fought back to win the clash.

Both players have struggled throughout this clay season, so we expect the match to go Over 21.5 games at odds of 6/10.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.

Roger Federer will make his Geneva Open debut today at 14.00 pm (UK Time) against Pablo Andujar-Alba.

Roger Federer hasn’t played a competitive match since his 2-1 defeat against Nikoloz Basilashvili in Doha two months ago. Prior to those matches in Doha against Evens and Basilashvili, Roger Federer had a break of one year. Roger hasn’t won a match on clay since 2019 when he lost in straight sets at the hands of Rafael Nadal in the French Open Semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Pablo Andujar-Alba has won three of his last four matches on clay, including a 2-0 win over Thompson in the first round of the Geneva Open. The Spaniard hasn’t been very convincing on clay courts this season though, as he suffered early eliminations in every tournament he competed in. Pablo managed to reach the Quarter-finals in Geneva back in 2014 when he lost in three sets against Joao Sousa.

Although Roger Federer hasn’t played a single match on clay in two years, we still think that he has enough to win in straight sets here at a price of 4/5.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.

Marton Fucsovics and Cristian Garin will square off in the first round of the Geneva Open today at 14.00pm (UK Time).

Marton Fucsovics has only played four matches on clay this season and won just once in the process. However, it has to be said that he looked very strong on hard courts in the first three months of 2021. He finished as runner-up in Rotterdam and then managed to reach the quarter-finals in Dubai. It has to be said that Fucsovics’s sole ATP Tour title was in Geneva during his debut campaign back in 2018.

On the contrary, Christian Garin has already played 17 matches on clay courts this season. He won a title in Santiago de Chile in the middle of March and his best performance since then was reaching the quarter-finals in Madrid a fortnight ago. His recent adventure in Rome ended early as he suffered a straight-set loss at the hands of Roberto Bautista-Agut in the second round.

Christian Garin should be able to win today as he is superior to Fucsovics on clay and he has also enjoyed a better run of form over the past month. Garin is priced at 16/25 to win today against Fucsovics.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.
