Djokovic v Nadal live stream and match preview | 2021 Rome Masters

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will square off in the final of the 2021 Rome Masters today at 16.00 pm (UK Time).

Novak Djokovic has been struggling for consistency prior to the Rome Masters tournament, crashing out in the third round in Monte Carlo to Evans and in the Semi-finals in Belgrade to Karatsev. He began his Rome adventure with two consecutive 2-0 wins over Fritz and Davidovich Fokina, but had some tougher matches yesterday. He fought back from one set down to defeat Tsitsipas 2-1 in the quarter-finals and then needed another three sets to win over Sonego in the Semifinals.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal had some tricky opponents in the first three rounds such as Jannik Sinner, Denis Shapovalov, and Alexander Zverev, but surprisingly he had his easiest test in the Semi-finals against Reilly Opelka. Nadal dispatched the American in two sets and he has only lost one set throughout this Rome campaign., which was against Shapovalov.

Rafael Nadal has the edge on clay surface over Novak Djokovic, but the Serb leads the H2H overall. We really love the price of 7/4 for a Djokovic victory today, so we’re backing the Serb here.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.

Andrey Rublev takes on rising Italian Lorenzo Sonego today at 10.00 am (UK Time) in the quarter-finals of the 2021 Rome Masters.

Lorenzo Sonego claimed one of the biggest victories of his career on Thursday by beating Dominic Thiem in a three-set thriller. Sonego has been playing great tennis on clay this season, winning eight of his nine matches on this surface. He did well to win the title in Cagliari in the middle of April but only reached the second round in Monte Carlo where he lost at the hands of Alexander Zverev. Here in Rome, Sonego managed to beat Monfils, Mager, and Thiem and he is now looking to cause another upset against Rublev.

Meanwhile, Andrey Rublev has struggled against Struff in the opening round of the 2021 Rome Masters, but then secured a straight-sets win over Roberto Bautista Agut. Rublev will feel confident ahead of this clash with Sonego, as he won the previous two meetings with the Italian without dropping a single set in the process. This will be Andrey Rublev’s eighth quarter-final appearance of the season.

Sonego played amazing against Thiem, but we all know that the Austrian just came back on tour following a serious injury. We think that Rublev has enough to secure a straight-set victory here at the price of 4/5.

Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas will square off in the Quarter-finals of the 2021 Rome Masters today at 12.30 pm (UK Time).

After a poor display in the Semi-finals of the Belgrade tournament against Aslan Karatsev, Novak Djokovic started his Rome campaign in a much better manner. He did well to beat Fritz and Davidovich Fokina in the first two rounds without dropping a set. Actually, he demolished Davidovich Fokina yesterday (6-1,6-2) after just one hour and 11 minutes. The Serb is yet to win a tournament on clay this season, but he is the reigning champion in Rome and has won the title here on five occasions.

Meanwhile, Stefanos Tsitsipas has won the Monte Carlo tournament without losing a single set in the process, back in the middle of April. He continued his great form by reaching the final in Barcelona where he lost in three sets against Rafael Nadal. He then succumbed to an unexpected loss against Ruud in the 2nd round of the Madrid Open, but he got back on track here in Rome with two clean victories over Cilic and Berrettini.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has proved to be a challenging opponent for both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in recent years, but we still think that the Serb will edge this one at a decent price of 57/100.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.

Alexander Zverev will be looking for a second victory in a row over Rafael Nadal in merely one week, as they meet on Friday in the Quarter-Finals of the 2021 Rome Masters.

Alexander Zverev is currently on a seven-match winning streak on clay courts after recently winning the Madrid Open. Zverev had to fight back from one set down and 1-3 in the second set to beat Kei Nishikori (4-6, 6-3, 6-4) in the round of 16 here in Rome. Zverev has won the most recent three meetings with Rafael Nadal and hasn’t lost a single set in the process.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal has only lost once in his last ten matches on clay courts. His sole defeat came at the hands of Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open a week ago. Rafa had a tough match in the round of 16 here in Rome, as he had to fight back from one set down in order to beat Shapovalov in a tiebreaker in the decisive set. More than that, he found himself behind in each of these three sets as Shapovalov had a 4-0 lead in the opening set, 3-0 lead in the 2nd set, and 3-1 lead in the 3rd set.

Rafael Nadal hasn’t been very convincing of late, especially after his display from the round of 16 against Shapovalov. It’s hard to predict the winner here despite the fact that Rafa is the bookies’ favourite in this match-up. We expect the match to go Over 21.5 games at 83/100.

Roberto Bautista-Agut and Andrey Rublev will go toe-to-toe for the third time this year today at 15.00pm (UK Time) in Rome.

Roberto Bautista-Agut hasn’t had his best results on clay this season, as he only reached the Round of 16 in Monte Carlo when he lost against Rublev, and then he suffered an unexpected defeat against Isner in the Round of 32 in Madrid. However, he did well to secure two straights sets victories here in Rome after beating the likes of Tommy Paul and Christian Garin. A victory today against Rublev will actually give Roberto his best performance in Rome Masters in six visits.

Rublev’s best performance on this clay season was in Monte Carlo back in the middle of March where he played the final against Stefano Tsitsipas. His adventure in Spain at Barcelona and Madrid was short as he suffered elimination in early rounds at the hands of Sinner and Isner respectively. In addition, the Russian had to fight hard in the opening round here in Rome as he needed three sets to beat Jan-Lennard Struff.

Andrey Rublev has won the previous two meetings with Roberto Bautista-Agut on clay, so we fancy him to secure the third one here. It pays 6/10.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.

Rafael Nadal will begin his  2021 Rome Masters adventure with a stiff clash against Jannik Sinner.

Jannik Sinner did well to reach the Semi-finals in Barcelona three weeks ago but then lost unexpectedly against Popyrin in the 2nd round of the Madrid Open. His record on clay this season reads six wins and three defeats, including his 6-2, 6-4 victory over Ugo Humber two days ago in the first round of the Rome Masters. The last time when Jannik Sinner met Rafa Nadal was one year ago in the QF’s of the French Open when the Spaniard has won in straight sets.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal was on a seven-match winning streak prior to his loss against Alexander Zverev in the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open a week ago. 2021 Rome Masters will be Nadal’s 4th tournament on clay this season after competing in Monte Carlo, Barcelona, and Madrid. He has only won the Barcelona title during this run and with the French Open coming soon, we are pretty sure that Rafa will be looking for another title here in Rome.

Although Jannik Sinner is a player that can cause upsets at any point, we think that Rafa will secure a 2-0 victory here at the price of 4/6.

Two friends and compatriots will meet today in Rome, as Aslan Karatsev takes on Daniil Medvedev.

Aslan Karatsev has been on a continuous rise since the beginning of 2020 when he was ranked as No. 202 in the world and he is now 27th ranked in the ATP Rankings. Aslan has already played ten matches on clay courts this season and only lost three of these. He managed some excellent results during this run, including a 2-1 win over Novak Djokovic in Belgrade and another 2-1 victory over Schwartzman in Madrid.

On the flip side, Daniil Medvedev has only played two matches on clay this season: a victory over Davidovich Fokina and an unexpected loss against Garin in the 2nd round in Madrid last week. Medvedev is a beast on hard courts, but when it comes to clay, he has struggled over the past few years to win back-to-back matches. For example, Medvedev has lost seven of his last eight matches on clay.

Aslan Karatsev looked much better than Medvedev lately, so we fancy him to win today at a price of 4/5.

Kei Nishikori and Fabio Fognini will face each other today at 10.30am (UK Time) in Rome, with both players still seeking some consistency throughout the clay season.

Kei Nishikori has struggled for consistency over the past two years, although he started 2021 on a positive note. His best performance of the season was in Dubai where he managed to reach the Quarter-finals before losing unexpectedly against Lloyd Harris. Nishikori also looked decent in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago, but he suffered a 2-1 defeat against Rafael Nadal in the round of 16. Then, he played in Madrid but lost in the second round against the eventual champion, Alexander Zverev.

Meanwhile, Fabio Fognini’s best performances of the season were reaching the round of 16 at the Australian Open on hard courts and the QF’s in Monte Carlo on clay. The Italian suffered an unexpected elimination in the first round of the Barcelona tournament where he was disqualified in the 2nd set against Zapata Miralles. He also looked poor in Madrid last week when he lost against Berrettini in straight sets.

It’s difficult to separate these two players at the moment due to their inconsistency, so we think that Over 21.5 games at a price of 3/4 seem a likely outcome.

The match is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide.
