Andy Murray v Alexander Bublik live stream | ATP Newport Hall of Fame Open preview

Andy Murray and Alexander Bublik will go head-to-head in the Quarter-Finals of the ATP Hall of Fame Open in Newport on Friday.

Three-time Grand Slam champion Murray headed stateside on the back of a Second Round exit at Wimbledon a fortnight ago, losing out to the big-serving John Isner in four sets.

Prior to that, the former world number one had reached the Semi-Finals in Surbiton before being denied by Matteo Berrettini in the final of the Stuttgart Open.

The 35-year-old, ranked world number 52, has made a solid start to this event, seeing off Sam Querrey in straight sets before defeating Max Purcell in a deciding set in Round Two.

He now comes up against world number 42 Bublik – who reached the Third Round at Wimbledon before losing out to Frances Tiafoe.

Seeded number three for this event, Bublik began his campaign by defeating Jack Sock 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.

Bublik’s best result of the season to date was winning the title in in Montpellier – where he defeated Alexander Zverev in successive sets in the final.

The Kazakh, who finished runner-up here in 2019, is 7-4 on grass in 2022 so far and was responsible for knocking Murray out of Indian Wells earlier this season.

Murray, however, has won three of their four previous meetings, the first of which coming at Wimbledon five years ago.

Either Jason Kubler or James Duckworth of Australia will await the winner in the Semi-Finals on Saturday.

Murray v Bublik is available to watch via a live stream on desktop, mobile or tablet devices from approximately 5.30pm BST.

Andy Murray and Sam Querrey will face off in the opening round of the 2022 Hall of Fame Open in Newport, Rhode Island on Tuesday.

The first meeting between the pair in five years will see Murray finally get the chance to avenge his shock defeat to the American in the Quarter-Finals of Wimbledon 2017 – the year he was defending champion.

Murray heads to the USA on the back of a Second Round exit at Wimbledon a fortnight ago, losing out to the big-serving John Isner in four sets.

Prior to that, Murray had reached the Semi-Finals in Surbiton before being denied by Matteo Berrettini in the final of the Stuttgart Open.

The 35-year-old is now ranked world number 52 and looks to be moving back in the right direction after being plagued by injury in recent years.

Querrey, meanwhile, suffered a straight sets defeat to Ričardas Berankis in Round One at Wimbledon, denying him a show-down with Rafael Nadal.

The 34-year-old, twice a Grand Slam quarter-finalist, has recently returned to the world’s top 100 after a lengthy struggle for form, and remains regarded as one of the best servers on the tour.

Murray has won seven of their nine previous meetings – the first of which coming here in Newport back in 2006.

Either Australian wildcard Max Purcell or Adrian Mannarino of France will await the winner in the Second Round.

Murray v Querrey is available to watch via a live stream on desktop, mobile or tablet devices from approximately 7pm BST.
