Rafael Nadal v Matteo Berrettini live stream, preview and tips | Australian Open 2022

Rafael Nadal takes on Matteo Berrettini in an unmissable Semi-Final show-down at the 2022 Australian Open on Friday.

Nadal is now just two matches away from a record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title as he bids to overtake rivals Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

The Spaniard has had a relatively straightforward route to the Semi-Finals, with the exception of the quarter-final clash with Denis Shapovalov, where he squandered a two-set lead before eventually prevailing in five sets.

Nadal is yet to lose in 2022 after nine matches and has only dropped three sets in the process, two of these against Shapovalov. The 35-year-old has been in top form so far in Melbourne, but suffered some stomach problems during his Quarter-Final match.

Berrettini had a sloppy start to the year but has returned to form in typical fashion in the season’s first Grand Slam.

He was put to test twice in five rounds at the 2022 Australian Open so far, contesting five-set thrillers against Carlos Alcaraz in the Third Round and most recently against Gael Monfils in the Quarter-Finals.

Berrettini actually had just one straight-sets victory en route to the last four. However, he is now the first Italian man to reach the Semi-Finals of the Australian Open.

The number seven seed has a record of nine victories and five defeats in Semi-Final matches, but lost all three such encounters against top 10 players.

We expect this match to go the distance, so our prediction is Over 36.5 Games at odds of 6/10 with Bet365.

Nadal v Berrettini is available to watch via a live stream on desktop, mobile or tablet devices from approximately 03.30am GMT.

Gael Monfils and Matteo Berrettini will lock horns in the Quarter-Finals of the 2022 Australian Open on Tuesday.

Monfils is definitely the surprise package of the 2022 Australian Open, taking into account that 2021 was one of the worst years in his career results-wise.

The Frenchman has won eight of his last nine matches on hard courts this year. He is yet to lose a single set at 2022 Australian Open and he recently won the Adelaide tournament, which was his first title in nearly two years.

In terms of Grand Slam results, Monfils has failed to reach the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam since the 2019 US Open, so this is already a great performance for him. Monfils’ previous Quarter-Final appearance at the Australian Open was in 2016.

Berrettini, on the other hand, has improved with each round at the Australian Open. He had dropped at least one set in each of his first three matches, but he looked unplayable on his serve against Carreno-Busta in the Fourth Round.

The Italian served 28 aces and dropped just nine points on his first serves. Overall, Matteo has fired a total of 80 aces in the first four matches at the Australian Open 2022 so far.

Berettini has met Monfils just twice in his career and has won both matches. This should be a contested match, so our prediction is Over 36.5 Games at odds of 6/10 with Bet365.

Monfils v Berrettini is available to watch via a live stream on desktop, mobile or tablet devices from approximately 9.30am GMT.

Novak Djokovic is now just two wins away from a record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title following a four-set victory over Matteo Berrettini in the US Open quarter-finals.

The world number one recovered from losing the opening set to advance to his 12th Flushing Meadows semi-final a 5-7, 6-2, 6-2, 6-3 winner.

It also marked the third successive Slam in which Djokovic had overcome the Italian, having also prevailed at the same stage of this year’s French Open as well as the Wimbledon final.

The Serbian will overtake Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s tally of 20 Slam titles should he go on to lift the trophy.

He is now within touching distance of becoming only the second male player of the Open Era to win a Calendar Grand Slam – with his Australian, French and Wimbledon titles already in the bag – and first since Rod Laver in 1969.

Just like in their Wimbledon showpiece less than nine weeks earlier, Berrettini landed the first blow as he broke in game 11 on the way to taking a lengthy opening set that lasted one hour and 17 minutes.

Although, it was also a case of déjà vu from the All England Club as Djokovic came roaring back by dominating the next two sets to turn the contest on its head.

He then controlled proceedings in the fourth to set up a mouth-watering last-four clash with Alexander Zverev on Friday.

Meanwhile, Maria Sakkari became the first Greek woman to reach the singles semi-finals at the final major of the season, after a straight-sets victory over former runner-up Karolina Pliskova.

Enjoying her best run at Flushing Meadows, 17th seed Sakkari was clinical on serve; winning 22 consecutive points during her service games to take the opening set 6-4.

The same scoreline in the next did the trick for the Roland Garros semi-finalist, who will play Britain’s teenage sensation Emma Raducanu in the last four.

Novak Djokovic will be looking for his 6th Wimbledon title when he takes on Italy’s Matteo Berrettini in the final of the Wimbledon 2021.

Novak Djokovic is currently on a 20-match winning streak here at Wimbledon, having won the previous two titles. This year at Wimbledon, Nole has dropped just one set in six matches, which was against wildcard Jack Draper in the opening round.

The Serb had one of the easiest routes to the finals of a Grand Slam, with four of his opponents being ranked outside the top 40. He is now one victory away to secure a third consecutive win in the Grand Slam finals, after recently lifting the trophy at the Australian Open over Medvedev and French Open against Tsitsipas.

Meanwhile, Matteo Berrettini has been considered one of the favorites to win Wimbledon since the start of the tournament. The Italian is currently on an 11-match winning streak on grass after recently winning the title in Queen’s.

After dropping a set against Guido Pella in the opening round of this Wimbledon, Matteo stormed into the quarterfinals by beating the likes of Van De Zandschulp, Bedene, and Ivashka in straight sets. He then got two four-set victories over Felix Auger-Aliassime and Hubert Hurkacz to set up this final against Nole.

Over 3.5 Sets at odds of 19/25 with Bet365 looks to be on the cards here after the most recent meeting between these two at the French Open which ended in four sets.

Djokovic v Berrettini is available to watch live on desktop, mobile or tablet devices in the UK and various other regions worldwide from approximately 1.30pm BST.
