Swiatek v Kontaveit live stream, preview and tips | Qatar Open 2022 Final

Iga Swiatek and Anett Kontaveit will go toe-to-toe in the final of the Qatar Open 2022 on Saturday at 15.00pm (UK Time).

Iga Swiatek should feel relieved now after finally beating Maria Sakkari in the semifinals. Prior to yesterday’s result, Iga has lost in straight sets in all the previous three matches against the Greek. She has won 13 of her 16 matches in 2022 so far, including four here in Doha. She is now the first Pole player to reach the final in Qatar and she needed just two appearances to achieve that.

The most impressive thing about Iga is that she has won all her finals in straight sets since losing to Polona Hercog back in 2019 in her maiden career final.

Meanwhile, Anett Kontaveit has had an impressive season in 2021 and it seems that she brought that form in 2022 too. Anett is currently on a nine-match winning streak on hard courts, including a title run in St. Petersburg.

Here in Doha, Anett has beaten the likes of Konjuh, Mertens, Jabeur and Ostapenko en route to the final. In the semifinal, Kontaveit demolished the recent Dubai winner, Jelena Ostapenko as she dropped just five games in the process.

This will be the 5th meeting between these two players and their H2H is at a stalemate of 2-2 at the moment. The most recent encounter ended in three sets, so we expect a similar outcome here. Our prediction is Over 2.5 Sets at odds of 7/5 with Bet365.

Swiatek v Kontaveit is available to watch via a live stream on desktop, mobile or tablet devices from approximately 3.00pm GMT.

Anett Kontaveit will take on Jelena Ostapenko for the second time in two weeks, as the pair meets in the semifinals of the 2022 Qatar Open on Friday.

Anett Kontaveit comes into this clash on the back of an eight-match winning streak. During this run, the Estonian did well to lift the title in St. Petersburg where she defeated no one else than Ostapenko in the Semifinals.

This week in Doha, Anett has only dropped one set in three matches after beating the likes of Konjuh, Mertens and Jabeur. Prior to this edition, Kontaveit had never won three matches in a row in Doha.

Kontaveit’s form over the past year has been impressive as she has won 41 of her last 47 matches. In addition, she has won eight of her nine semifinal matches since February 2021.

Meanwhile, Jelena Ostapenko has seen a resurgence in form this season. She did lose against Kontaveit in the semifinals of the St. Petersburg Open, but managed to win the title in Dubai.

The Latvian is currently on a nine-match winning streak, including three impressive victories here in Doha. She defeated the likes of Anisimova, Krejcikova and Muguruza while dropping just one set.

Ostapenko’s best result here in Doha was a runner-up finish back in 2016 when she lost to Carla Suarez Navarro.

Kontaveit holds the better H2H record in this tie, so we fancy her to win 2-0 at odds of 6/5 with Bet365.

Kontaveit v Ostapenko is available to watch via a live stream on desktop, mobile or tablet devices from approximately 2.00pm GMT.

Nikoloz Basilashvili and Roberto Bautista-Agut will square off in the final round of the Qatar Open 2022 on Saturday at 15.00pm (UK Time).

Nikoloz Basilashvili has definitely rediscovered his form in Qatar, similar to last season. The Georgian had lost all his previous six matches this year before the Qatar Open started. He finds himself in the final of this tournament for a second consecutive season. Last year, Nikoloz was winless in five games before entering ATP Doha and he did well to lift the trophy after a final match against the same Bautista-Agut.

The most interesting fact about Basilashvili is that he holds an impressive record in championship matches. He has won five of his eight final matches played at the tour level which includes victories over Juan Martin Del Potro and Andrey Rublev.

Meanwhile, Roberto Bautista-Agut has demolished Murray and Davidovich Fokina in the first two rounds here in Qatar, but then faced a tricky test against Khachanov. The Spaniard lost the opening set against Khachanov, but fought back and won the last two sets 6-3, 7-5.

Similar to Basilashvili, Bautista-Agut also feels good here in Doha as he has won the tournament here back in 2019 and finished as runner-up last year.

Our prediction for this clash is Under 22.5 Games at odds of 5/6 with Bet365.

Basilashvili v Bautista-Agut is available to watch via a live stream on desktop, mobile or tablet devices from approximately 3.00pm GMT.

Karen Khachanov and Roberto Bautista-Agut will square off in the semifinals of the 2022 Qatar Open on Friday at 16.30pm (UK Time).

Karen Khachanov had two flawless matches in straight sets in the first two rounds, but he struggled against Marin Cilic in the third round. He finally got the better of the Croat and has now reached his second semifinal of 2022.

The Russian has struggled for consistency before this tournament, having been eliminated in the 3rd round at the Australian Open and in the second round in Rotterdam. The last time when Karen managed to reach the final of a tournament on hard courts was at the Olympics in August last year.

Meanwhile, Roberto Bautista-Agut has won seven of his last 10 matches on hard courts. The Spaniard has been sharp in Qatar this week. He demolished both Murray and Davidovich Fokina while dropping just three games in the process.

The Spaniard loves the Qatar Open as he has won the title here in 2019 and also finished as runner-up in 2021.

This should be an exciting clash, so our prediction is Over 22.5 Games at odds of 5/6 with Bet365.

Khachanov v Bautista-Agut is available to watch via a live stream on desktop, mobile or tablet devices from approximately 4.30pm GMT.

Karen Khachanov and Marin Cilic will go toe-to-toe in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Qatar Open on Thursday at 16.30pm (UK Time).

Karen Khachanov began his 2022 Qatar Open adventure with two comfortable victories against McDonald and Ruusuvuori. Furthermore, he is yet to drop a set here. That being said, Karen is now in the quarterfinal in Doha for the first time in his three attempts.

Karen’s best performance on hard courts was back in August 2021 when he finished as runner-up to Zverev at the Olympics. The only time he managed to win three games in a row on hard courts since then was in Adelaide a month ago.

On the flip side, Marin Cilic has had a solid start to the year with eight victories under his belt in 11 matches. After losing to Felix Auger-Aliassime in the 4th round of the Australian Open, Cilic did well to win in straight sets against Van De Zandschulp in the first round here in Doha.

Cilic is in great shape at the moment and the recent results speak for himself. Actually, this will be his third consecutive quarterfinal appearance in 2022. The last time he achieved this record was back in 2018.

This should be a close contest with Over 22.5 Games at odds of 8/11 with Bet365.
