Belgium’s Kim Clijsters holds the record of most singles wins with five (1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005), while no other player has claimed this title on more than two occasions.

This year’s line-up is headed by top seed Belinda Bencic of Switzerland, while world number 16 Elise Mertens, reigning champion Ostapenko and China’s Zhang Shuai are among the other seeded stars in action.
