A big clash in the second round in Vienna as Alexander Zverev takes on Cameron Norrie for a place in the quarter-finals.

Zverev is the 2021 champion in Vienna and was unable to defend his title in 2022, so this is technically his defence. His win over Sebastian Ofner in the opening round was his sixth consecutive at the venue and it was an impressively facile victory as well.

The German plays so well here because his serve and movement are the perfect combination for a player at this venue. Norrie will have his work cut out to try and find a gap in the Zverev defences to take advantage of.

The Brit has had a poor campaign, but there are signs of a recovery of late. The opening victory against Filip Misolic was hard fought but his first on tour since defeating Marc Polmans in the opening round in Zhuhai in late September. However, there had been signs of form when losing in narrow defeats to JJ Wolf and Andrey Rublev in previous tournaments.

That improvement will need to take a leap forward though if a victory against Zverev is to be achieved here.
