Alexander Zverev and Grigor Dimitrov will meet for the sixth time on tour in the opening round of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati.

Zverev has won ten first round matches in a row, however, hasn’t been consistent in going to the business end of tournaments.

Dimitrov himself has a good first round record, winning his last seven in the opener. Obviously, one of these records cannot continue.

Both men are in pretty decent form as well. Zverev is 8-2 in his last ten, including a tournament win in Hamburg, and Dimitrov 7-3. The slight problem for Zverev is that his last match on court was an absolutely shocking performance against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina at the Canadian Open.

However, Zverev dominates the head-to-head record between the two at 4-1, including the last four in a row. Their last meeting was in the French Open this year, with Zverev winning in three comfortable sets. This gives the German the advantage here and one would back him to win.

Their latest encounter gets under way from around 00:45 BST (20:45pm local time) and will be contested over the best of three sets.
