ATP Acapulco Betting Tips & Predictions | Our Picks For This Week’s Tennis

Andy Watson in ATP Tour 28 Feb 2023

Who will magic so strong and who will stay too long in Acapulco this week? Cameron Norrie reached the final here last year and comes off the back of consecutive finals in South America, will he be the one going loco on Sunday?

The courts are Solflex this week in Mexico, which is a relatively unusual choice of hard court for a tournament. The women’s event in Merida used the same type of hard court last week and Camila Giorgi’s power and movement won out there.

It is a strong line-up this week as the best of the recent mini American hard court swing and the very best of the Golden Swing clash here. Carlos Alcaraz is the number one seed, with Taylor Fritz, Casper Ruud, and Holger Rune completing the top four seeds.

Of course, ATP Acapulco is not the only tournament on tour this week. You can read our tips for ATP Dubai (given the full famous stats grid treatment this week) and ATP Santiago on site. The WTA visits Monterrey and Austin, Texas this week too.

ATP Acapulco Betting Tips

Taylor Fritz 1pt @ 5/1 with Sky Bet

The American is in the world’s top ten now so is generally priced as such now. However, circumstances here dictate that I think he should be clear favourite in this field. Carlos Alcaraz is the better overall player, but the young Spaniard spent his last two weeks returning from injury playing a match a day on gruelling red clay court rallies in South America. Eventually he was pushed over his limit by Cameron Norrie in the Rio final late on Sunday night, though Alcaraz will get a day or two of rest, there are enough doubts about him to make Fritz a much more appealing option in the top half.

JJ Wolf 0.5pt @ 22/1 with Bet365

Wolf has shown in 2023 already that he has a good level, he ran out of fitness a little bit last month but has had a couple of weeks off and should be well prepared for this event.

His closest seeded player is Andrey Rublev, but the Russian appears to be having a crisis of confidence at the moment and is definitely susceptible to an upset.

Brandon Nakashima 0.5pt @ 25/1 with Bet365

As mentioned above, Carlos Alcaraz could be vulnerable early and Nakashima is a dangerous player that could take advantage of that. These are the type of tournaments that he needs to progress in before he can make a splash on the biggest stages.

ATP Acapulco 2023 Draw

The draw in Acapulco is a 32-player draw, with eight seeds.
