World number one Ashleigh Barty takes on Victoria Azarenka in the second round of the Cincinnati Masters 2021 on Thursday.
Barty increased her opening-round record in Cincinnati to four consecutive victories after beating Heather Watson in straight sets (6-4, 7-6). It was a difficult match for the Australian, as she got broken twice in the first set and then had to battle for an hour in the second set. Barty has reached five finals in her last ten tournaments and has recently won his second major at Wimbledon where she lost just two sets.
Azarenka, meanwhile, has won four of her last five matches on hard courts, with that sole defeat coming at the hands of Sabalenka in Montreal a week ago. Azarenka began her title defense in Cincinnati with two straight-set victories over Samsonova and Riske. Vikka won this tournament as his first title back in 2016 and he did that once again last year after a withdrawal in the final from Naomi Osaka.
