Daniil Medvedev will be looking for his seventh consecutive victory when he takes on Grigor Dimitrov in the Second Round of the Cincinnati Masters.
Medvedev extended his winning streak on the main tour to six matches with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Mackenzie McDonald in the opening round in Cincinnati.
The Russian has dropped just two sets in his last six matches. Furthermore, Medvedev’s victory against McDonald was his 7th win here in Cincinnati, as the Russian has won the title here back in 2019. Daniil has won 22 matches from 25 on outdoor hard courts so far this year and he reached at least the quarterfinal in all five tournaments he competed on this surface.
Dimitrov has lost seven of his last eight matches prior to the Cincinnati Masters 2021. However, the Bulgarian looked completely different this week, having won back-to-back matches against Bautista-Agut and Bublik without losing a single set in the process. Dimitrov is also a former champion of Cincinnati Masters, which is actually his only ever Masters title.
Medvedev should be able to win this clash, but we expect Dimitrov to make a good match. Our prediction is Over 20.5 Games at odds of 5/6 with Bet365.
