Daniil Medvedev is eyeing a second final in the space of two weeks when he takes on Andrey Rublev in the semifinals of the Cincinnati Masters 2021.
Daniil Medvedev avenged his quarterfinal loss at the Tokyo Olympics against Pablo Carreno-Busta, by defeating the Spaniard yesterday in the Cincinnati Masters quarterfinal in a dominant manner (6-1,6-1). The Russian has been amazingly strong on outdoor hard courts this season, having won 23 of his 26 matches on this surface. He has lifted the title in the ATP Cup and Toronto Masters, as well as finishing as runner-up at the Australian Open. Daniil has also reached the quarterfinals at the Tokyo Olympics and Miami Open.
After a couple of early exits at Wimbledon, Tokyo Olympics, and Toronto Masters, Andrey Rublev managed to find some form here in Cincinnati. Rublev has had a decent season on outdoor hard courts so far this year. He did well to reach the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and making three consecutive semifinal appearances in Doha, Dubai and Miami. Rublev’s run this week in Cincinnati has been pretty good with solid victories against Cilic, Monfils and Paire.
Medvedev is yet to drop a single set in Cincinnati Masters 2021 and we expect him to secure another 2-0 victory today at the odds of 61/100 with Bet365.
