ATP Cordoba Betting Tips and Predictions: Our Picks For This Week’s Tennis

Andy Watson in ATP Tour 07 Feb 2023

The Golden Swing begins in Cordoba with the South American clay court specialists in town to try and pick up some valuable ATP World Ranking points and prize money. You’ve come to the right place for comprehensive draw analysis and betting tips.

ATP Cordoba is played on a typically slow red clay court where conditions suit a patient game style. The tennis will be low on aces but high on attrition, which makes it suitable for a player at full fitness and preferably with some recent clay court tennis in the bank.

There is also often a trend of players who target this section of the season and repeatedly play well in the Golden Swing. The defending champion in this tournament is Albert Ramos-Vinolas, who has also been a beaten finalist here recently. Diego Schwartzman also repeatedly plays here and is the number one seed again.

ATP Cordoba Betting Tips

Francisco Cerundolo 1.5pt @ 6/1 (Bet365)

Now ranked #32 in the world the elder Cerundolo brother has had to wait a while to get back onto his natural red clay due to his success on the main tour. Though looking through his form turns up a number of losses, most of them were expected losses on hard courts where the Argentine still gave a good account of himself.

He has a fabulous record on clay, and especially South American clay. If Cerundolo plays up to his level then he should be a step above the majority of his rivals here.

Albert Ramos-Vinolas 1pt @ 7/1 (Bet365)

Ramos-Vinolas’ record at this tournament is better than anyone else’s in the draw. He is defending his 250 points from last year and because of those two factors he will be very motivated to put in another deep run here. This tournament is especially targeted by the Spaniard every year as it suits his game and he isn’t in the most difficult of quarters to progress to the semifinals again.

The Main Draw

Cordoba is a 28-man draw with 8 seeded players. The top four seeds all receive a bye to the second round. The qualifiers will be finalised on Monday.
