Two in-form players will square off in the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships 2022 on Saturday afternoon, as Jiri Vesely takes on Andrey Rublev.
Jiri Vesely has had a fairytale run here in Dubai this week, having won six matches en route to the final round. Vesely had to play two qualifying matches before entering the main draw and dropped a set in each of them against mediocre opponents in the shape of Habib and Pypyrin.
However, his run in the main draw has been amazing, having beaten the likes of Marin Cilic, Bautista-Agut, Novak Djokovic, and Shapovalov.
Vesely has won two of his previous three main tour finals, against Mannarino in Auckland back in 2015 and Egor Gerasimov in Pune back in 2020.
Meanwhile, Andrey Rublev is currently on an eight-match winning streak after recently winning the Marseille Open a week ago.
Here in Dubai, Rublev hasn’t looked very convincing as he has dropped at least one set in three of his four matches. He is now one match away from winning back-to-back ATP titles for the first time since 2020.
The Russian has played five finals in ATP 500 events so far in his career and won three in the process.
Jiri Vesely might be a bit tired after playing six matches in Dubai this week, while Rublev has dropped a set in each of the previous three rounds. Our prediction is Over 22.5 Games at odds of 4/5 with Bet365.
