Alexander Zverev will kick off his fifth ATP Finals campaign with a meeting against Matteo Berrettini on Sunday.
Zverev is the second-most experienced player in ATP Finals due to his five visits here. Two of his four campaigns in this tournament ended in the group stages, but he managed to win the title once here back in 2018 after defeating Federer in the semifinals and Djokovic in the final.
Zverev is definitely one of the best performers on the main tour this year, having won five titles on the main tour while winning 55 matches.
Berrettini secured his spot here in Turin following some impressive performances in big events earlier this year. The Italian hasn’t lost a single match in Grand Slams before the quarterfinal stages this year. His career-best result in Masters events was finishing as the runner-up to Zverev in Madrid.
Berrettini is in a tough group this year as he has to face the likes of Zverev, Medvedev and Hurkacz.
