Six-time champion Novak Djokovic and rising star Holger Rune go head-to-head in the final of the 2022 Rolex Paris Masters on Sunday.

Sixth seed Djokovic heads into the contest on the back of a 13-match winning streak, having dropped just one set en route to a fourth consecutive Paris Masters final.

Back-to-back champion in Tel Aviv and Astana, Djokovic began his Paris Masters campaign with straight set wins over Maxime Cressy, Karen Khachanov and Lorenzo Musetti.

He then edged out fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in a third set tie break in the Semi-Finals to register an eighth consecutive win over his Greek rival.

The Serbian star is chasing a sixth title of the season, having also triumphed at Wimbledon this summer for his 21st career Grand Slam crown.

However, he will be poised for a tough examination from 19-year-old prodigy Rune – who he defeated in four sets in last year’s US Open First Round – their only previous meeting to date.

Rune has enjoyed a ground-breaking week in Paris, storming into a fourth consecutive ATP final following a series of superb wins.

The world number 18 came from a set down to defeat Stan Wawrinka in the opening round, before defeating tenth seed Hubert Hurkacz and seventh seed Andrey Rublev in straight sets.

He was leading top seed Carlos Alcaraz 6-3, 6-6 in the Quarter-Finals, when the Spaniard was forced to retire through injury, but the Dane then ended Felix Auger-Aliassime’s 16-match winning streak with a ruthless straight sets triumph in the Semi-Finals.

Rune is now gearing up for the biggest match of his career to date as he bids to dethrone the reigning champion and add his name to the roll of honour.
