ATP Santiago Betting Tips & Predictions | Our Picks For This Week’s Tennis

Andy Watson in ATP Tour 27 Feb 2023

The altitude in Chile is what makes this fourth and final Golden Swing event in Santiago somewhat different to the others. Who will be able to take advantage of the unusual clay and thin air combination to take the title?

Whilst the surface will probably be fairly similar to the preceding events in Cordoba, Buenos Aires, and Rio, we can expect a number of differences in the way the Chile Open will play out.

For a start there is no Carlos Alcaraz or Cameron Norrie in the draw here. Those two have dominated the main events of this Golden Swing playing in the two finals and sharing the titles. This week the seeding goes down to world #63 Bernabe Zapata Miralles and the #1 seed is Lorenzo Musetti, a very different test awaits

Of course, ATP Santiago is not the only tournament on tour this week. You can read our tips for ATP Dubai (given the full famous stats grid treatment this week) and ATP Acapulco on site. The WTA visits Monterrey and Austin, Texas this week too.

ATP Santiago Betting Tips

Nicolas Jarry 1pt EW @ 13/2 with Bet365

The big Chilean is coming back to his best now after the enforced layoff that he had a couple of years ago. Jarry’s 2023 is looking very strong with a big victory over Miomir Kecmanovic in Australia and a run to the semifinals in Rio as a qualifier.

He has had a few days to recover from those exertions and hopefully he is ready to go again in his home event. He has the advantage of having played and won a match in Chile very recently in the Davis Cup against Alexander Bublik, so has that little advantage over the field as well.

Albert Ramos-Vinolas 0.5pt EW @ 14/1 with BetVictor

This will be the third time that the veteran Spaniard has made the shortlist in the Golden Swing. He has disappointed in the quarterfinals twice, but I like the look of his draw and he really is drinking in the last chance saloon far as his career on the ATP Tour is concerned if he cannot gather a good number of points here.

Dusan Lajovic 0.5pt EW @ 16/1 with Bet365

Lajovic has bumped into Carlos Alcaraz in Buenos Aires and Rio, this time the Serbian doesn’t have to deal with the mercurial Spaniard. His more European style game could be benefitted in these conditions and if he can flatten out his ball striking a bit more then he can be a big threat. Lajovic has already defeated Sebastian Baez this swing and is priced at three times the price for the tournament, could be a value bet.

ATP Santiago Draw

The draw in Santiago is a 28-player draw, with eight seeds. The top four seeds have received byes into the second round.
