Dimitrov must be playing with confidence after his excellent run in this tournament, but Rublev has been very impressive in his own way. There can be no doubt that Rublev is the player who has the better record at the tail-end of tournaments, he has 18 career titles and 2 in the last year versus Dimitrov’s 12 total and none since 2017.
Dimitrov has had a decent year though, reaching the Geneva final and this is his 5th semi-final of the year as well. The Bulgarian has a 67% win rate, which is slightly bettered by Rublev’s 71%.
There is very little between their serve with Dimitrov holding 83.3% of service games with Rublev at 84.3%. It is even tighter in their return record with Rublev breaking 24.9% of the time and Dimitrov at 24.8%.
This would suggest that the match will be a tight occasion. However, the history between the players suggests that when one player gets on top it is very difficult for the other player to come back at them.

It has been a very impressive run from Dimitrov so far to reach the semi-final. Khachanov was a tough test, but the obviously impressive result is to come from behind against Carlos Alcaraz to get the win. That confidence was displayed in the Jarry match as he progressed in straight sets.
