Alexander Zverev is aiming to reach his first final of the season when he faces Arthur Fils in the last four of the Hamburg European Open.
The home favourite goes up against the teenage surprise package on Saturday for the right to face either Laslo Djere or Zhizhen Zhang in the championship match.
Zverev, who returned from injury at the start of the year, has matched his best performance of the season, having also reached this stage at the French Open as well as in Dubai and Geneva.
The only seed remaining in the draw, the former US Open finalist has done so in a fairly dominant fashion, reeling off six sets without reply.
Zverev has put Alex Molcan, Maximilian Marterer and Luca Van Assche to the sword, but knows he faces another tough assignment in the fast-improving Fils.
The 19-year-old is also yet to drop a set following a pair of 7-5, 7-5 victories over Daniel Galan and Dusan Lajovic, as well as the biggest win of his career so far against top seed Casper Ruud.
The Lyon champion, who prevailed 6-0, 6-4, is appearing in his fourth tour-level semi-final of the campaign, having also reached this stage in Montpellier and Marseille.
And having put clay-court specialist Ruud to the sword, he will certainly fancy his chances of doing the same to Zverev.
Play gets underway at around 4.15pm BST on Saturday and will be contested over the best of three sets on Center Court.
