A mouth-watering all-Italian quarter-final is in store at ATP Monte-Carlo as Lorenzo Musetti and Jannik Sinner clash at around 4pm UK time.

Musetti is here as a result of taking down world #1 and odds-on tournament favourite Novak Djokovic in the previous round. The three-set, three-hour epic was delayed by rain halfway through but the youngster maintained his level and concentration to score his first victory over a world #1.

Sinner has been one of the players of the year so far. The Miami finalist has a really high number of match wins already in 2023. The Italian is obviously very comfortable on clay and the shot making in this match could be epic.

The only time these two have played against each other before was on an indoor hard court in 2021. This probably doesn’t have too much bearing on this match considering the difference in conditions here but Sinner was the victor on that occasion.

I like the chances of Jannik Sinner here. He is well in form and there is always the mental difficulty for Musetti of re-focusing after a massive victory like the one against Djokovic. Sinner is the most consistent player out there from the centre of the baseline and he could dictate from there.
