Stefanos Tsitsipas and Borna Coric go head to head on Saturday for a place in this year’s Los Cabos Open final.

Both players are still seeking their maiden titles of 2023, but are now just two wins away from breaking their duck in Mexico.

Having trailed 3-1 in the head-to-head, Tsitsipas has subsequently prevailed in both meetings between the players this year at the United Cup and Rome Masters.

A runner-up in Melbourne and Barcelona this season, the Greek is looking to make it third lucky in an ATP final and build momentum ahead of the US Open at the end of August.

Tsitsipas arrived at the ATP 250 off the back of successive last-16 exits at Stuttgart, Halle, Mallorca and Wimbledon.

But the top seed broke that streak with a straight-sets victory over John Isner, before battling past Nicolas Jarry in the quarter-finals 6-7(6), 7-6(4), 6-2.

Meanwhile, Coric has enjoyed a dominant run to the semi-finals, dropping just 10 games in his victories over Jason Jung and Ilya Ivashka.

It has been a timely upturn in fortunes for the world number 16, who arrived here off the back of three successive first-round exits – taking his tally for the campaign to eight.

Indeed, he has matched his best performance of the season – also reaching this stage in Madrid – and is now closing in on becoming the second Croatian winner of this tournament after Ivo Karlovic, who won the inaugural event seven years ago.

A showdown with either Alex de Minaur or Dominik Koepfer awaits the winner of this match in the 2023 Los Cabos Open final.

Play gets underway at around 5am BST on Saturday and will be contested over the best of three sets on Estadio Mextenis.
