Andy Murray steps up his Surbiton Trophy campaign with a tie against China’s Bu Yunchaokete in the Second Round on Wednesday.
Murray opted out of the French Open in order to focus on the grass court season has his sights set on being seeded at Wimbledon.
The world number 43 looks in fine fettle, having picked up the Aix-en-Provence Challenger title last month, proving he remains at his most dangerous on the grass surface.
The 36-year-old began his campaign at Surbiton with a routine 6-3, 6-2 win over South Korea’s Hyeon Chung – a semi-finalist at the 2018 Australian Open.
Murray served eight aces and dropped just one point behind his second serve throughout the match and will look to build up a head of steam with Queen’s on the horizon.
He now comes up against 21-year-old qualifier Bu – who claimed his maiden ATP Challenger Tour title in April and earned his first grass court victory on Tuesday.
The Chinese ace defeated Harry Wendelken 7-6, 7-5 in the opening round and will be out to overcome another Brit for what would be the biggest result of his career so far.
This will be the first meeting between the two and gets under way from around 1.45pm BST over the best of three sets.
Either fifth seed Jason Kubler or British wildcard Ryan Peniston will await the winner in the Quarter-Finals.
