Karen Khachanov and Roberto Bautista-Agut will square off in the semifinals of the 2022 Qatar Open on Friday at 16.30pm (UK Time).
Karen Khachanov had two flawless matches in straight sets in the first two rounds, but he struggled against Marin Cilic in the third round. He finally got the better of the Croat and has now reached his second semifinal of 2022.
The Russian has struggled for consistency before this tournament, having been eliminated in the 3rd round at the Australian Open and in the second round in Rotterdam. The last time when Karen managed to reach the final of a tournament on hard courts was at the Olympics in August last year.
Meanwhile, Roberto Bautista-Agut has won seven of his last 10 matches on hard courts. The Spaniard has been sharp in Qatar this week. He demolished both Murray and Davidovich Fokina while dropping just three games in the process.
The Spaniard loves the Qatar Open as he has won the title here in 2019 and also finished as runner-up in 2021.
