Matteo Berrettini arrives in London looking to retain his title following his victory over Cameron Norrie in last year’s final.
The Italian has really proven himself to be a force over the past 12 months, making the quarter finals stage at both the 2021 French Open and US Open, the final of Wimbledon and the semi final of the Australian Open this year. Those performances have seen him rise to number 10 in the world and he’s got his sights set on breaking the top five this year.
The 26-year old won this tournament last year and he’ll be aiming to become the first man to retain the title since Andy Murray picked up consecutive championships in 2015 and 2016. He enters the tournament this year as one of the favourites and is starting to really show his dominance on grass.
