Stan Wawrinka v Lorenzo Sonego live stream | ATP Umag Croatia Open Semi-Final Preview

Stan Wawrinka is aiming to reach his first ATP final since 2019 when he faces Lorenzo Sonego in the last four at the Croatia Open Umag.

The Swiss veteran, who was the champion of this event 17 years ago, is on course to win the ATP 250 for the second time.

Wawrinka has reeled off six sets without reply this week to register his best performance of the season, seeing off Filip Misolic, Federico Coria and Roberto Carballes Baena along the way.

And the three-time major winner is now looking to reach the 31st ATP final of his career – and first since he was beaten in the Antwerp showpiece four years ago.

But the 38-year-old faces a tough test of his credentials against second seed Sonego, who is also appearing in his first semi-final of the campaign.

The Italian has demonstrated plenty of determination to do so. After seeing off compatriot Marco Cecchinato 6-1, 7-6(7), he was forced to come from behind against Jaume Munar, but did so in emphatic fashion by winning 12 of the last 15 legs to prevail 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.

The world number 43 now has his eyes on what would be his sixth ATP final, and first since finishing as runner-up to Alexander Bublik in Metz last year.

A showdown with either seventh seed Matteo Arnaldi or Alexei Popyrin awaits the winner of this match in the Croatia Open Umag final.

Play gets underway at around 8pm BST on Saturday and will be contested over the best of three sets at Goran Ivanisevic Stadion.
