Danielle Collins and Iga Swiatek will square off in the Semi-Finals of the 2022 Australian Open on Thursday.
Collins has now reached a Grand Slam Semi-Final for the second time in her career after a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Alize Cornet.
The American had an amazing first-service win rate and managed to win the match despite committing 29 unforced errors.
Collins has been in incredible form since the 2nd half of 2021, having won 31 of her 38 matches since July. During this run, she managed to win her maiden career titles in Palermo and San Jose.
The last time Collins featured in the Semi-Finals of the Australian Open, she was beaten in straight sets by Petra Kvitova.
Meanwhile, Swiatek began her 2022 Australian Open campaign with three comfortable wins in straight sets, but she was tested in the previous two rounds.
Firstly, she survived a scare against Sorana Cirstea in the Last 16 before having to fight again from a set down to beat veteran Kaia Kanepi in the Quarter-Finals.
The Pole holds a 4-2 win-loss record in her previous Semi-Finals, but the worrying news is that she lost the most recent two in straight sets.
