Novak Djokovic steps up his quest for a tenth Australian Open title with a Second Round tie against Enzo Couacaud in Melbourne on Thursday.

World number five Djokovic is looking to make up for lost time after being ruled out of last year’s Australian Open and will be buoyed by the early exit of rival and reigning champion Rafael Nadal.

The Serbian star coasted past Roberto Carballes Baena in straight sets in his opener in little over two hours on court and will be keen to pick up from where he left off.

Djokovic, the dominant force here since first landing this title in 2008, has extended his unbeaten run to a staggering 35 matches in all competitions Down Under.

He has lost in the Second Round at Melbourne Park just once since 2006, with that blip coming six years ago, and he starts out as huge favourite to sweep aside the world number 190.

Couacaud is gearing up for the biggest match of his career to date as he makes only his second appearance in Round Two of a Grand Slam.

The 27-year-old pulled off an impressive straight sets win over Hugo Dellien earlier in the week despite being ranked 60 places lower than his opponent.

The Frenchman, who came through the qualifiers to seal his spot in the main event, is taking on Djokovic for the first time, with his only two previous matches against top ten opposition both resulting in defeat.

The match gets under way from approximately 8am GMT and will be available to watch live online via the link below.

Either Grigor Dimitrov or Laslo Đere will await the winner in the Third Round later in the week.
