Former world number one Andy Murray will take on Taro Daniel in the Second Round of the 2022 Australian Open on Thursday.
Murray continued his excellent start of the year, having won five of his seven matches in 2022. He is now preparing for the second round of the Australian Open 2022 after a five-set thriller against Basilashvili. This was actually Murray’s first at the Australian Open since 2017.
Although Murray has never won the Australian Open, he still managed to reach the final of this Grand Slam five times. The Brit has come a long way in the last 12 months and he looks ready for the challenge.
Meanwhile, Daniel has been in excellent form in this early stage of 2022, having won seven of his eight matches on hard courts. Taro is yet to drop a single game at the Australian Open 2022 after four matches, including qualifiers.
The Japanese star has never reached the second round of a Grand Slam in his career, but this seems a good opportunity as he is in great form at the moment.
