Novak Djokovic will be looking to increase his winning streak to six matches when he takes on Pablo Cuevas from 1.30pm BST on Thursday in Round Two of the 2021 French Open.
Novak Djokovic had an easy clash with Tennys Sandgren in the opening round and finished the match in just 2 hours (6-2,6-4,6-2). However, it has to be said that the American is in terrible shape at the moment as he has lost 11 of his 14 matches in 2021. Novak Djokovic has won his previous 15 second-round matches here at Roland Garros and has dropped just three sets in the process. Nole hasn’t been at his best on clay this season, but he has got better in the recent weeks.
Pablo Cuevas has shown some signs of life in Geneva recently where he managed to win five games in a row before losing to Shapovalov in the Semi-finals. His recent form on clay reads seven wins and just two defeats in his last nine matches. The Uruguayan looked dominant in his opening match against Lucas Pouille, winning in straight sets (6-3,6-1,6-3). Cuevas has been knocked out in the 2nd round in his most recent two slam campaigns in the French Open 2020 and Australian Open.
