Felix Auger-Aliassime and Rafael Nadal will square off in the Round of 16 of the French Open 2022 on Sunday at 2.00pm (UK Time).
Felix Auger-Aliassime has won 10 of his last 15 matches on clay courts, but unfortunately, he wasn’t able to lift any trophies during this run. His best performances during this term were quarterfinals appearances in Barcelona, Madrid, Estoril and Rome.
The Canadian No. 1 had to fight back from two sets down in his opening round at the French Open 2022 to defeat Varillas in five sets. He then comfortably won against Ugo Carabelli in the second round, but was really tested by Krajinovic in the previous round.
Felix had to play three close sets, including two tie-breakers to defeat Krajinovic and to earn his spot in the Round of 16.
As we’ve already mentioned in our previous previews, Rafael Nadal hasn’t been at his best prior to the French Open 2022. However, the 13-time French Open champion is yet to be tested on Parisian courts so far this year as he comfortably won all three matches in straight sets. In addition, the Spaniard had dropped just 23 games in these three matches.
Rafa needs to be at his absolute best in order to defeat Felix Auger-Aliassime on Sunday. The good news is that Nadal has dropped just one set in his previous six matches against top 20 players in the round of 16 in Paris.
We expect a tight contest so our prediction is Over 3.5 Sets at odds of 1/1 with Bet365.
