World No. 1 Iga Swiatek will take on Danka Kovinic in the third round of the French Open 2022 on Saturday at 11.00am (UK Time).
Iga Swiatek has increased his winning streak to 25 matches after her comfortable 2-0 victory over Riske in the previous round of the French Open 2022. Iga is definitely the most in-form female player at the moment and we cannot see any other player in the WTA circuit being able to stop her at the moment.
The Pole has lost just one set in her last 21 matches, including the first two rounds of the French Open 2022. Iga has dropped just four games against Tsurenko and Riske, winning both matches 6-2, and 6-0.
Swiatek has reached the second week in all her three participations at the French Open.
On the flip side, Danka Kovinic did well to register a couple of victories of late but it has to be said that most of them were obtained in ITF. She managed to reach the semifinals in Marbella almost two months ago and then win an ITF title in Wiesbaden.
This week in Paris, Kovinic defeated Samsonova 2-1 in the first round, and then won against Schmiedlova in the second round. Kovinic was without victory in the second round of a Grand Slam before the start of the year, but she is now 2-6 after defeating Raducanu at Australian Open and now Schmiedlova at the French Open.
