Top seed Iga Swiatek will take on Qinwen Zheng in the Round of 16 of the French Open 2022 on Monday at 14.30pm (UK Time).
Iga Swiatek has increased her winning streak to an unbelievable number of 31 matches after her 2-0 victory over Kovinic in the third round of the French Open 2022. Iga is yet to drop a single set in Paris this year, having beaten the likes of Tsurenko, Riske and Kovinic in straight sets. She has actually won 48 of her last 49 sets.
She has now reached the 4th round in each French Open campaign, becoming the 4th woman to win 17 of her first 19 matches on Parisian courts.
On the flip side, Qinwen Zheng has had an amazing week in Paris so far after back-to-back victories over Zanevska, Halep, and Cornet. Overall, Zheng has had a solid year with a couple of good performances in Melbourne and also in the Orlando ITF tournament.
It is worth mentioning that Zheng has only won one match on clay courts prior to the start of the French Open 2022. She already caused one huge upset against Halep in the second round of the tournament, but we don’t think she has enough to record a shock today against Swiatek.
