Reigning champion Rafael Nadal will face World number ten Diego Schwartzman in the third French Open 2021 Quarter-Final on Wednesday.
Nadal increased his winning streak to nine matches two days ago by defeating Jannik Sinner in straight sets. The Italian played decent once again, but it wasn’t enough to stop Rafa. The defending champion is yet to drop a set at the French Open 2021 and has lost just three sets in Paris in six years. Nadal has lost just once in 14 French Open Quarter-Finals, with that sole defeat coming at the hands of Novak Djokovic back in 2015.
Similar to Nadal, Schwartzman has had a clean run at the 2021 French Open so far, having beaten the likes of Lu Y.H, Bedene, Kohlschreiber, and Struff. The Argentine was winless in four matches before the kick-off of the French Open. However, he looked solid in Paris this week, but his head-to-head record against Nadal makes for grim reading. Schwartzman has won just once in eleven meetings with the Spaniard, although that sole victory came just one year ago in Rome.
