Ons Jabeur

Ons Jabeur arrived at the French Open looking to land the first grand slam title of her career, but her quest was ended in the quarter-finals.

The Tunisian broke new ground at Roland Garros, defeating Lucia Bronzetti, Oceane Dodin, Olga Danilovic and Bernarda Para to become the first African woman to reach the last eight at all four majors.

But she came unstuck against Beatriz Haddad Maia, who recovered from losing the opening set to ensure Jabeur’s wait for grand slam glory goes on.
