Title favourite Iga Swiatek will face Daria Kasatkina in the Semi-Finals of the 2022 French Open at Roland Garros on Thursday.
Swiatek has extended her winning streak to 33 matches thanks to another comfortable 2-0 victory in the quarterfinals of the French Open 2022. The Polish sensation defeated Jessica Pegula 6-3, 6-2 in a match in which she had as many unforced errors as winners.
The only negative for Swiatek is that she didn’t manage to win another Slam title since her triumph in Paris two years ago. However, she has converted her previous Semi-Finals into titles and she is now on a 33-match winning streak. This is actually the third-longest winning run in the 21st century.
On the flip side, Kasatkina has had a flawless run to the semi-finals of the French Open 2022. She is yet to lose a set on Parisian courts so far this year, having beaten the likes of Sramkova, Contreras Gomez, Rogers, Giorgi, and Kudermetova.
This is the fourth time that Kasatkina has reached the Last Four of a tournament this year, following Semi-Final appearances in Melbourne, Sydney and Rome.
