Serena Williams will be looking for a place in the quarterfinals of the 2021 French Open when she takes on Elena Rybakina from 16.45pm BST on Sunday.
After a couple of poor results in Rome and Parma, Serena Williams has finally found form here in Paris. The 39-year-old player hasn’t played very convincingly in the opening two rounds of the tournament against Begu and Buzarnescu, but she looked incredibly solid against Collins in the previous round. Williams clinched the deal in straight sets despite being 1-4 down in the second set and ended the match with 6-4, 6-4. Serena has made the quarterfinals in Paris ten times in 20 years, but her last appearance in the last eight was in 2018.
Meanwhile, Rybakina was in poor shape ahead of the French Open as she has failed to win consecutive matches in seven tournaments in a row. However, she has been impeccable in Paris this week, having won all three matches without dropping a set. In addition, she should feel confident ahead of this match as she has a 4-6 record against top 10 players.
Williams should be able to win the tie, but we expect the match to go over 2.5 sets at the price of 37/25 with Bet365.
