Alexander Zverev will be looking for another straight-set victory here at the French Open 2021 when he takes on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on Tuesday at 14.00pm (UK Time).
Alexander Zverev has won eleven of his last twelve matches on clay, with the sole defeat coming at the hands of Rafael Nadal in Rome. After fighting back from two sets down to win in five sets against Oscar Otte in the opening round of the RG21, Zverev bounced back with three consecutive straight-set wins. In the previous round, the German demolished Kei Nishikori 6-4, 6-1, 6-1 and he is now in his four quarterfinals in a row on the clay surface.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has also enjoyed a solid run of results over the past month, having won eight of his last nine matches on the clay surface. The Spaniard had a couple of tough matches at the French Open 2021 so far, including five-set victories over Van De Zandschulp and Casper Ruud. In addition, Davidovich Fokina looked incredibly solid against Federico Delbonis in the previous round, a player that has won 25 matches on clay in the past six months.
