Alexander Zverev v Alex Molcan live stream with Bet365 | French Open 2023 preview

Alexander Zverev continues his quest for another strong run at the French Open when he faces Alex Molcan in round two on Thursday.

The German has reached the semi-finals in each of the last two years at Roland Garros, and will be hoping another strong performance at the clay-court major this time around.

Zverev may even have gone all the way 12 months ago but for the untimely ankle roll that forced him to retire injured from his mouth-watering clash with Rafael Nadal.

The 22nd seed was forced to battle on his return to Paris against Lloyd Harris in round one, coming through two tie-breaks to eventually prevail 7-6, 7-6, 6-1.

He is now looking to reach round three for the seventh time in eight years and claim a 25th victory in 32 matches, but will certainly be wary of his opponent.

Indeed, Molcan has reached three tour-level finals on clay during his career, while he was a semi-finalist in Banja Luka in April.

Like Zverev, the Slovakian also enjoyed a straight-sets win against Hugo Gaston in the opening round.

Beaten by Novak Djokovic at this stage on debut 12 months ago, the world number 86 is aiming to go one better and match his best performance at a major, having also made it to round three at Wimbledon last year.

The winner of this match will play either 12th seed Frances Tiafoe or Aslan Karatsev in round three of the 2023 French Open.

Play gets underway at 7.15pm BST on Thursday and will be contested over the best of five sets on Court Philippe-Chatrier at Roland Garros.
