Daniil Medvedev v Alexander Zverev live stream | ATP Indian Wells 2023 preview

Daniil Medvedev aims to continue his red-hot form when he takes on Alexander Zverev in the Indian Wells Masters fourth round.

The pair collide for the 13th time in what promises to be a mouth-watering encounter, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.

Incredibly, each of the 12 previous clashes have also been played on hard courts. The two players share six wins apiece, though Zverev prevailed in their most recent showdown at the 2021 ATP Finals.

Nevertheless, the form book would certainly favour Medvedev, who is aiming to extend his 16-match winning streak and claim a fourth successive title of the season.

Indeed, the fifth seed arrived in Indian Wells fresh from triumphs in Rotterdam, Doha and Dubai, and built on his momentum by defeating Brandon Nakashima 6-4, 6-3, before overcoming Ilya Ivashka 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.

Although, Medvedev is making on his second last-16 appearance at this event and is yet to reach the quarter-finals – a feat his opponent achieved two years ago.

Having only returned to the tour in January following his serious ankle injury at last year’s French Open, Zverev is looking to build momentum leading towards the season’s second Slam at Roland Garros.

The world number 14 reached the semi-finals in Dubai earlier this month, eventually losing out to Andrey Rublev.

He has subsequently followed that on by beating Pedro Cachin 6-3, 6-1 and Emil Ruusuvuori 7-5, 1-6, 7-5 to reach the last 16 for the third time in seven appearances.

The winner of this match will play either Alejandro Davidovich Fokina or Cristian Garin in the quarter-finals.

Play gets underway at around 6pm GMT on Tuesday and will be contested over the best of three sets.
