Hubert Hurkacz will be looking to continue his clean run at 2021 Indian Wells when he takes on Grigor Dimitrov in the Quarter-Finals on Thursday.
Dimitrov produced a stunning performance yesterday as he defeat Daniil Medvedev in a three-set comeback win in the round of 16. Medvedev has been one of the best performers on outdoor hard courts this year and was on a ten-match winning streak prior to this loss.
Dimitrov has been dealing with constant fitness problems this year, but he looked impressive here in the desert, having dropped just one set in three rounds.
Meanwhile, Hurkacz has won eight of his last ten matches on hard courts. The Pole is yet to drop a single set at 2021 Indian Wells, having beaten the likes of Popyrin, Tiafoe and Karatsev.
On his debut campaign at the Indian Wells back in 2019, Hurkacz couldn’t get past Roger Federer in the quarter-finals. Since then, Hubert has played two quarterfinal matches in Masters events and did well to win one in the process, in Miami earlier this year.
