Taylor Fritz and Nikoloz Basilashvili will square off in the second semifinal of the 2021 Indian Wells tonight at 11.00pm (UK Time).

Taylor Fritz produced one of the biggest surprises in the quarterfinals, as he fought back from a 2-5 deficit to defeat Alexander Zverev. Fritz has met two top-10 and one top-20 player so far in the Indian Wells campaign, and he has lost just one set in the process.

This will be Fritz’s first semifinal appearance in Masters 1000 events. He played four semifinal matches on the main tour this year and lost them all. One of these losses came against none other than Basilashvili in Doha.

Nikoloz Basilashvili has also caused a huge upset in the quarterfinals by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets. Basilashvili hasn’t been at its best in 2020, but he posted some excellent results over the last ten months. He has won titles in Doha and Munich, as well as reaching the semifinals in Halle.
